Notepad++ is a free generic source code editor and Notepad replacement, which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment.

This project, based on the Scintilla edit component (a very powerful editor component), written in C++ with pure win32 api and STL (that ensures the higher execution speed and smaller size of the program), is under the GPL Licence.

In the Tab "Versions" choose version 5.1 and you will download Notepad++ 5.1 there.

Absolutely essential if you use a lot of text files that you like to chop and change. As a trainer it saves me a lot of time as it
can open as many files as you need. Cutting and pasting from one to another is simple.
Also is a good html editor.

Version number 4.8.2 is newer than 4.75; 482 is current as of 08/04/25
